Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed a restorative break and feels energised for the coming term.
Term 4 is a relatively short one, with only nine and half weeks, but it will be very full. School finishes on Wednesday 18th December and there are many major events to come throughout those weeks – all of the important end of year functions, plus all of the activities that set things in place for next year.
And around us, of course, we have the works. The tennis court is finished. B Block roof is done and A Block roof is halfway though. The oval has been started and the laying of new turf will mean the oval is out of action for much of the term. Most of the external painting is complete and internal painting has started, to be finished during the summer break. In addition to that, we are in the planning phase to convert some of the fixed library shelving to mobile units, so the library space can be used more flexibly in future. Once all this is complete, the school should be in good physical shape.
The preparatory work for the tender process for the new out of school hours care license has been completed and the actual process will commence next week, with an expected completion date of early December. Once the successful tenderer has been identified, the transition planning will begin. The actual start date for the new operator is negotiable and will be decided at that time to ensure there is a smooth transition.
Behind this, teaching and learning continues apace as we strive to ensure our students make optimal progress with their learning before the long summer break.
