Stanmore Public School Message from the Principal

Dear parents and carers,

Strategic Improvement Plan 2021-2024

Our new Strategic Improvement Plan for 2021-2024 has been published, following extensive situational analysis and staff and community consultation.

Our three Strategic Directions are:

  • Student Growth and Attainment
  • Continuous Improvement of Practice
  • Positive Learning Culture

The published Strategic Plan is a high level document which outlines our broad initiatives, success criteria and improvement measures for each Strategic Direction over the next for years. Through each year of the plan we will create and modify specific, targeted implementation plans for internal use, which will guide our activities and evaluation processes for each Strategic Direction and initiative.

I encourage you to read our Strategic Improvement Plan, and welcome any feedback or questions you might have.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Thank you to all the parents who have booked an interview with your child’s teacher next week. Meeting with the teacher to discuss your child’s learning goals and how you can support their progress is very important in contributing to their success at school.

NAPLAN Practice Tests and Assessments

Thank you to our teachers, and especially to Ms Morris and Mr Nance, for coordinating the NAPLAN Practice tests for Year 3 and Year 5 this week. The NAPLAN assessments will take place over Weeks 4 and 5 of Term 2 (Monday 10 May – Friday 21 May). More information will be sent out to families of Year 3 and Year 5 students next term.

Harmony Day and Greek Independence Day Celebrations

Thank you to Ms Poon and Ms Vezos for organising a wonderful event on Thursday, celebrating Harmony Day and Greek Independence Day.

Office Update

To minimise disruption to classes, student pick-ups and drop-offs during school hours take place at the office. If your child arrives late or needs to leave early, office staff will telephone the classroom and ask them to come to the office. Please avoid picking your child up during break times (11:00am – 11:20am and 12:50pm – 1:40pm).

If you need to drop off a lunchbox or a hat, please do so at the office and we will contact your child to come and collect it. Drink bottles do not need to be dropped off at the office, as students are now permitted to use the bubblers.

Until next week,

Hugh Miller
