Stanmore Public School students receive award for excellence in Greek language

The 25th Annual Presentation Ceremony of the Hellenic Studies Awards took place on Tuesday 11 February 2020, at the Parliament House of New South Wales.

These awards are held in honour of the International Day of the Hellenic (Greek) Language. Mrs Vezos was given the difficult task of selecting two students currently in Year 6 to receive a prestigious Greek award for their excellence in the language. The award is a certificate and a medal.

This years recipients were:

  • Eleftheria M (5/6B)
  • Dimitri A (5/6B)

Both students attended the ceremony with their families.

Named for Apollo Phoevos, the ancient Hellenic god of the sun and of light, these students were awarded for excellence in Hellenic Studies at the Primary level.
