Dear parents and carers,
As you are no doubt aware, the NSW government has announced that schools in Greater Sydney will move to learning from home for Week 1 of Term 3 (Tuesday 13th – Friday 16th July).
Schools will remain open for the students and families who need it, and no student will be turned away from school, although parents are encouraged to keep their children at home. There will only be minimal staff supervision and schools will provide one unit of work for students, whether they are learning from home or in the classroom.
All staff members will be required to wear masks in all indoor settings, and non-essential visitors are not permitted on school sites. Out of school hours care will be operational during Week 1 for families who need it. The canteen will be closed in Week 1.
This morning, a survey has been emailed out to all families via Operoo to enable us to plan supervision for students attending the school site in Week 1. Please respond to this survey as soon as possible.
More detailed information to support students and parents during the learning from home period will be sent out on Monday 12th July. We understand that learning from home will be challenging for everyone, and that families will have varying levels of capacity to complete the set tasks. Class teachers will be doing their best to provide support through the week. We are all hopeful that face to face learning will resume for all students on Monday 19th July, minimising the impact on children’s learning and wellbeing.
